Welcome to What a Bride! I’ve held this site for a little under a year, and in the past, it has been many things – an online personal styling service, clothing and accessories store, and a bridal advice blog. While I loved exploring those ventures, ultimately the best outlet for this site should be something I’m truly passionate about – sharing thoughts and useful ideas from my lived-experiences for women exploring all stages of wedding planning, motherhood, and general well-being.
So let me introduce myself.
I’m Miranda. I was raised in a small town in Tennessee, but today, I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and our sassy cavapoo, Willa. I worked in Big Tech for several years, but left to earn an MBA degree and explore other ventures. More on that later!
I love to play golf, explore the outdoors, spend time with friends and family, and tinker with new recipes – so much so that I have a cottage food permit to sell baked goods from home.
I grew up thinking I wanted to spend my life climbing the corporate ladder and relished every opportunity in college to put on a suit and present in front of my business management classes, but lately my priorities have changed – I yearn to start something of my own that can satisfy my entrepreneurial mind while providing flexibility to dedicate much of my time to family.
The past few years have been a whirlwind. Starting in 2020, I bought a house with my husband (boyfriend at the time), got promoted at work only to quit said job one year later, enrolled and completed graduate school, and for the past year, have been trying to expand our family.
I’m excited for this revamping of “What a Bride!,” and hope to have you follow along in this journey.
